The 17th Marine Expeditionary Unit (SOC) is a ArmA 3 tactical realism unit based on a Marine Corps Marine Expeditionary Force (Special Operations Capable). We are a active, disciplined, and professional group that strives to excel in stressful and challenging environments. As a tactical realism unit we strive to maintain a high level of immersion during operations and training not only in our attitude but also with the vast array of maps, mods, and game modes. The 17th MEU uses the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy rank structure.

We have a rigorous Training and selection process for new recruits or potential members. SOI orSchool of Infantry will be the first thing a member completes in the Unit. SOI is broken down into 3 different battalions; Infantry training Battalion, Marine Combat Training Battalion, and the Fleet Medical Training Battalion. All three battalions are based on the U.S. Marine Corps Training standards. During SOI it is your time to demonstrate to us you have what it takes to become a member of our prestigious unit.

Our core is based on Battalion Landing Team 1/7. We also have the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Tank Battalion, 3rd Armored Amphibious Battalion, and other assets including the Air Combat Element. We train every Friday at 8 P.M. Central, and have operations every Saturday at 8 P.M. Central. Currently we are only recruiting people that are 18+ years of age.
